Era: Lyres – Map of Yarnolth and Map of the Kingdom Available now from DriveThruRPG!

Hi everyone!

As a Lyre, one of the “big damn heroes” of the kingdom of Yarnolth, you’ve definitely travelled all over the Kingdom of Yarnolth, right? Right?

Okay, so you aren’t actually a hero, so you didn’t do the travelling thing, but you still need to know every detail, in case someone asks. Enter the map of the Kingdom of Yarnolth! Every major town and city in the entire kingdom is listed, with a handy compass to make sure you never get East and West confused in the middle of your story again!

That’s available from DriveThruRPG now: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/247172/Era-Lyres–Map-of-the-Kingdom-of-Yarnolth

But there’s more!

What if you also need to keep track of which pubs you can go to again, and which ones have patrons who are getting wise to you? What if you need to remember where it’s safe to sleep on the street, or where those pesky boys are that keep stealing your trousers, so you can avoid them?

That’s the job of the Map of Yarnolth! Inherited from a previous Lyre (we don’t ask what happened to him…!), this has all of the information you need about the city to stay alive and keep your honour intact!

That’s also available from DriveThruRPG now: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/247171/Era-Lyres–Map-of-the-City-of-Yarnolth

Don’t miss out on these two awesome maps for one of our most-loved games!

You can get hold of the game on DriveThruRPG as well: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/220229/Era-Lyres–Pocket-Edition
or from our store: https://www.era-games.com/product/era-lyres-pocket-edition-digital/

Era: The Empowered Update 12

Hi everyone!

I’ve asked the Beta readers to finish by now, and am receiving feedback. Honestly, there’s nothing big, or any issues that require large changes, so I’m very encouraged! Era: The Empowered has gone really well on the writing side and I think the text is print-ready at this stage.

The images still need to be finished, and Keith is working overtime to make it happen as quickly as possible. Even so, art can’t be rushed if you want it to be good, and we still want Era: The Empowered to be breathtaking! I’ve got a sketch for you today, which is of the ex-Atlantean hero K’Jarr showing another Atlantean who’s boss! Despite his lower levels of strength, K’Jarr has been able to hold his own against his people, even during their invasion.

Keith and I are going to continue to work through the images as fast as possible, but I’m sure you understand that we need to make sure they do this amazing game justice, so if there’s a delay because of that, I hope you will understand.

Amazing Space Adventures Available now on DriveThruRPG!

Hi everyone!

You might remember that, several years ago, we worked with Wayne Brown and the Rochester Fantasy Fans to create Amazing Space Adventures in one of our first ever Kickstarters! They had been developing the idea behind it for well over 20 years and when they met us at Animé North in Canada, they decided they would like to work with us to make their dream a reality.

It was a success, and a book was created. That book is Amazing Space Adventures!

I fell in love with the concept immediately – the chance to explore the solar system the way Sci-Fi writers of the 50’s had imagined it: the plains of Mars, haunted by a lost civilisation; the jungles of Venus, hiding horrible and deadly creatures; the ice fields of Europa, with unknown life-forms beneath the frozen layer.

I took their concept and wrote the content that they needed to make the game work. I worked closely with them to expand on and upgrade their rules, and we eventually completed a Rulebook Primer for this game.

That Rulebook Primer is now available on DriveThruRPG, as of today: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/146457/Amazing-Space-Adventures–Rulebook-Primer

At less than $1, I hope you’ll consider checking out this innovative and fun game, inspired by the golden age of Sci-Fi!

If you want to get the Paperback version, you can get it from our Store: https://www.era-games.com/product/amazing-space-adventures-rulebook-primer-physical-version/

I hope you find the adventure you’re looking for out there! I know we did!

Era: The Chosen – Udzeni

Hi everyone!

One more type of Anonassi today (there are so many!), again illustrated by the talented Mikhail Greuli.

These are the Udzeni, “sky-demons”. They float, unnoticed, against the grey skies of the Lost Lands, waiting and silent… waiting for their chance to swoop down on the Chosen and consume them.

They live to eat and are always hungry…

Progress on Painting Consortium models and more…!

Hi everyone!

I’m back, it’s been a week since I did a general update!

Era: The Consortium Miniatures Update!

Today, I have something awesome to show you, from the workbench of the very talented Mr Simon Parr! He’s finished painting Awuuzia and Styxtirian, and I think they look fantastic. Check out the Main Image above… stunning, don’t you think?

He’s moved onto Steve Adams next, so expect to see some more before too long!

I have some great news on these in general as well… we’re working hard on a solution for producing them, and we expect to run a Kickstarter early next year where you will be able to get hold of your very own versions of Stiletto Unit and the various guard designs we’ve come up with for use in your RPG play.

There’s more in store for this as well, but I’m not quite ready to announce it yet… so watch this space…

Evil Overlord Production Underway

Everyone who backed the Kickstarter already knows this, but Evil Overlord’s print run is now underway after a few changes needed with the prototype box.

Nothing was too difficult, and we expect the decks for our largest number of physical Kickstarter rewards ever to be sent over to me before too much longer!

Era: The Chosen Kickstarter Coming Soon!

I’m working on the finishing touches to the Era: The Chosen Kickstarter, which we expect to launch in mid-August.

If you want to know more about our upcoming horror game, there’s nowhere on the internet better to find information than the dedicated Facebook group for this game:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/erathechosen/

This game will bring new mechanics and new challenges to gameplay in the Era universe. Along with bonuses and penalties relating to the experiences you have, you will have to defend the universe from invading aliens from another dimension…

I hope you have what it takes to be Chosen, for all our sakes!

New Releases!

We’re still in the process of releasing material on DriveThruRPG and on our Store, so don’t forget to keep an eye out for all of the new releases!

We kicked off last weekend with Free Trader in Digital and Paperback formats! Explore the Consortium and trade your way to success, if you can avoid pirates… or being “mistakenly identified” as one of them!

As always, there are limitless possibilities in Free Trader: while there are over 40 types of Cargo and over 30 space stations to trade it at, some cargo can only be obtained from “special” locations…

That’s all for today!

I will be back next week with some more news, so I’ll see you then!

Era: The Consortium – Free Trader – Released Today!

Hi everyone!

I’m pleased to announce that the first of the Wave 2 Expansions for Era: The Consortium is now available on our Store!

Free Trader was inspired by an old Sci-Fi TV series from the UK. In it, one of the main characters was initially introduced as a smuggler. She quickly corrected the individual in question that she was a “Free Trader”. Despite seeing that for the first time over 15 years ago (to anyone who knows it: I’m a little younger than that particular story!), it stuck with me.

Free Trader was actually one of the very first expansions to be identified, as well as an easy one to name: I always knew I wanted to include tables for various types of cargo at each of the trading points in the Consortium.

It’s a fantastic edition for Era: The Consortium, and was even a candidate for the UKGE Awards this year, so I strongly recommend you check it out if you’re not a Kickstarter Backer!

You can get the Paperback here: https://www.era-games.com/product/era-the-consortium-free-trader-paperback/
And the Digital Version is here: https://www.era-games.com/product/era-the-consortium-free-trader-digital/

I’ll be back next week with another awesome release, so don’t miss out!

Era: The Empowered Update 11!

Hi everyone!

Era: The Empowered is still making great progress!

A new image came in just today from Keith, as we work through those that we have remaining. I’m hoping I’ll be able to show you some next week (this particular one was sent back for some minor changes for character consistency – the kind of thing that happens from time to time when an artist is split across a lot of different characters!).

The Beta Readers have already started sending me feedback, spotting a few bits and pieces that my heroic proofreading team missed. It’s a fact of life that, no matter how well something is proofread, you’re always going to end up in a situation where not everything is caught. Given it’s a total of 6 things so far, I’m not losing too much sleep over it!

I’d like to thank you all for your patience. The book is coming towards the end of its development, but the artwork still has some distance to go. Keith is hopeful we can pick up the pace but, I’ll be honest, I think we might slip past the end of August for the Hardbacks and into September. We made that commitment on Kickstarter but it may not surprise you to learn it was actually a mistake which we didn’t catch at launch! Even so, we hoped to be able to deliver on that timescale, but as Hardbacks usually take some time to produce, I suspect we might not be so lucky this time.

Of course, we will endeavour to get it to you as soon as possible, and I don’t expect anyone more than the two backers on those particular tiers to have their reward late! Everyone else, I’m as sure as humanly possible that we will deliver by November, so don’t worry!

I’m sorry to have to give that news and I hope you can continue to be patient for a short while longer.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Era: The Chosen – Trophies

Hi everyone!

In Era: The Chosen, Triggers build up for your character, but so do Trophies, as you defeat enemies!

Trophies are often taken off the corpses of your enemies, and will grant special abilities. This could be anything from a tooth from a brute, or a chunk of flesh from a Fallen.

Rather than having inherent powers within the trophies, they remind characters of a time they were successful despite the odds, spurring them onto greatness in their next battle. This usually has an effect on their likelihood to gain Triggers when in battle against certain types of Anonassi.

There’s obviously a lot more information in the Rulebook, which I am not quite ready to share, but I am willing to answer any questions you guys have, so please feel free to post a reply if you have a question!

Era: Lost Legend First Playtest, Era: The Empowered Beta Reading, More Products to be Released!

Hi everyone!

I’ve got loads for you today, so hang onto your hat!

Era: Lost Legend

You might have hears about Era: Lost Legend already. It’s a game inspired by JRPGs such as Final Fantasy. My aim when beginning the design of this game was to make something which would feel like these games but run on the ever-adaptable Era d10 Rule Set.

There’s still a lot of work to do, unsurprisingly, but I wanted to share with you that the artwork has begun for the game (see above for an example by the amazing Anna Belyaeva), and we’re running the very first playtest campaign to try out the new rules I’ve created.

It runs on the normal Era d10 Rule Set, with many familiar Attributes and Skills, but due to the nature of some of the characters, these are more different than ever before, which both Personal and Technical skills seeing large changes in their content! There’s also a massive change to the levelling system, which works on a tree basis, similar to Skyrim, Final Fantasy XIII and with a few influences from Final Fantasy X’s Sphere grid. This is a brand new way of building and levelling characters and I, personally, can’t wait to see how the playtesters react to it!

I’ve written a campaign which I think is going to be great fun, and I’ll provide you with more updates as I have them! I won’t give too many spoilers, though, as they will have the chance to change the nature of the world for ever by the end of it… if they can navigate the personal and situational events which I have in store!

Era: The Empowered

The Beta Readers have begun their work through the 300-page Core Rulebook, which I sent out to the six volunteers on Wednesday! So far, it seems there’s minimal feedback (which is always great!), and I’m on the edge of my seat, wondering what they think!

Keith is still working through the remaining artwork, and we’re making progress on that front also.

More Products to be Released!

Over the coming months, you’re going to see a lot of products released, both here in our store and on DriveThruRPG (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/8156/Shades-of-Vengeance). Not everything will be available in the latter location, so keep an eye out for what comes (we’ll do some announcements).

Just to give you a taster, we have all of the Wave 2 Expansions for Era: The Consortium, Audio projects by EraScapes, the Era: Lyres Deluxe Edition in Hardback, and loads of support material for Era: Survival, Era: Hitman and more!

I hope you enjoy what we’ve got – we’ve long prided ourselves on supporting all of our games after they come out, as we know there are fans of individual ones out there, as well as people who love everything we create!

Don’t forget that there’s also loads of material on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SoV

That’s all for today!

If you have any questions, please let me know! I’ll be happy to help.

Era: The Empowered Update 10 – Core Rulebook Beta Readers!

Hi everyone!

Great news today! I’ve had several volunteers for Beta Readers for the Era: The Empowered Core Rulebook.

Of course, that means that all of the proofreading and indexing is also done, and I’d like to publicly thank our QA team – Hande and Calyie – for their swift and efficient work!

The Beta Readers have agreed to read through the book (which has lost 2 pages of unused index space and therefore fallen to 298!) within 2 weeks and provide me with comments. That will give me time to action them, and for Keith to finish the artwork.

There is still quite a lot of artwork to do, and it remains the largest risk to the August delivery date. I’ll keep you informed, but at the moment we’re still hoping to complete them before we run out of time.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

Era: The Chosen – Kapavuk

I have some more amazing art for you today, of one of the most fearsome creatures in the whole Anonassi army.

The terrifying Kapavuk are known for prowling battlefields, being almost invulnerable, and for eating Chosen at random. They induce fear in more than a few Chosen, just through their presence.

– Ed

Lots of Progress on many things!

Hi everyone!

We’ve made some great strides since last week, and there’s loads of new stuff to tell you about!

Infiltration: The Bug War #2 – Part 2

Probably the most exciting news is our latest comic!

It’s a continuation of the Bug War series, which began with Hai-Xang Hayden in “Declaration”, and continued onto Liam Paine’s story in Infiltration Part 1.

It’s on Kickstarter now [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sovcomics/infiltration-the-bug-war-2?ref=7flcyl]! And if you missed any of the previous issues, you can get hold of them through there as well, at a special bundle price!

Home Base Complete!

Home Base has finally been completed and the Digital has been sent out to Kickstarter backers. This is the last of the Expansions unlocked by the Universe of Expansions 2 Kickstarter, well ahead of schedule. I’ll be compiling those expansions into the Hardback Versions shortly, ready to send out the last of the physical rewards.

It’s been a long journey, of course, but absolutely fantastic. Thanks so much for your support, everyone, and keep an eye out for what’s coming next from Era: The Consortium!

Era: The Empowered Beta Reading… very soon!

If you’re a Kickstarter backer or an enthusiastic fan, you might already know this, but we’re going to be releasing early versions of the Core Rulebook of Era: The Empowered for Beta Reading. It will have full written content, but not all of the images.

It’ll be your chance to look it over and comment, so I hope you’ll step forward if you’re interested!

Well, that’s all from me today. Thanks for reading, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Era: The Empowered Update 9!

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update on the progress with Era: The Empowered today!

Things are going pretty well – the first proofreading pass has now finished, and the second pass and indexing for Parts 1-4 is also complete (leaving only Part 5 and the Appendices!).

Artwork is also proceeding nicely, with new stuff coming in most days.

All in all, things are shaping up nicely and, while it will depend on artwork when the overall book is finished, I hope to provide a chance for Beta Readers to look at what we have before much longer!

Well, that is all from me for now – I will be back with you soon for another update!

Era: The Chosen – Dawn of the Second Era

Hi everyone!

For a long time after the first ten years of the Anonassi War, the Humans held their areas of the Lost Lands, fighting back the Anonassi to a standstill but making little progress.

Unfortunately, this was due to the Anonassi improving their tactics and what they were willing to commit to the field. The Humans were holding the line, but progress became impossible.

That all changed after the invention of magasine-fed single-shot weapons… and here’s a story about that!

– Ed

———————————————————————————————————————

“We’ve been fighting this war for 2 generations – for 60 years – and this is the first true breakthrough we have had in weapons technology after the first 10! We have become complacent and accepting that the Anonassi will take under 50 people per year. This is not enough! I present this as a rallying cry – we must take the fight to these demons once again!” –

“So you do still live,” Hana Nakamura said, falling into step beside Andreas D’Aoust, her voice high with amusement.

It was her usual manner of greeting, a way to affirm that the people around her were still alive – that she lived, too. Though she was never sure how people might take it after one man, an old veteran, battle-scarred and weary, had accused her of making light of the tragedies of war. It was morbid, he’d said. Disrespectful. But every time she said it, her mind catalogued it away from her so that when someone she knew did fall to the Anonassi, she would be able to protect herself with memory of everyone who she had been able to meet again. Everyone who still survived.

Andreas laughed it off, as always. “Surprise of surprises. Not even weapons training can take me down – though not for lack of trying from the rookies.”

“They probably couldn’t focus over the sound of your gloating.”

“Gloating? I don’t gloat.”

“You make an announcement every time your shots hit.”

“To inform everyone that I’ve successfully eliminated a target.”

“Most people just say, ‘one down,'” Hana said, deadpan. “Not, ‘did you see that, I got it right between the eyes.'”

“Oh come on now, even you have to admit that’s impressive.”

“I would if you’d done it with a blade. What risk is there in firing a gun? What finesse? Battle used to be a form of art. Now what will it become?”

Andreas dangled a spare magazine in front of her face. “This right here will turn it into a science. Isn’t that better?”

“Science isn’t going to help much when a Brute’s in melee range. Besides, you still have to reload those things don’t you? You’re still leaving yourself vulnerable. And for what good? A death is a death either way.”

“Find us a battle,” Andreas said, “And I’ll show you.”

* * *

Battle did not come quickly, but it did come eventually when their patrol – eight strong including Hana and Andreas – came upon an Anonassi squad of ten, twelve, maybe closer to fifteen members. It was hard to tell. They moved in a way that seemed to deliberately cloak their numbers. Andreas hung back with the other two riflemen, seeking the most defensible point in what were rolling flatlands with knee-high hills and small valleys that were hidden beneath brambles and grass.

Hana didn’t lead the blade team’s charge forwards, but she was the first to engage with an Anonassi – a Kapavuk of average size that fought with exceptional speed. There was an ease to the way Hana moved her sword from parrying to slicing to thrusting in tune with the Kapavuk’s many legs. Like the Harbour City Acrobats, she did not simply stand on the precipices of injury and death, she danced upon them. Even as the Kapavuk broke her stride and her skin – even as an Udzeni approached her from above.

When she noticed its shadow stretching from behind her like a shroud, like dirt over a grave. There wasn’t enough time for her to defeat the Kapavuk before the Udzeni descended upon her, but if she shifted focus she would be leaving her back exposed to an enemy that had already tasted her blood and craved for more.

From his position behind the melee, Andreas readied his gun, aimed it at the Udzeni, and waited with desperate impatience for the Anonassi to hit an ideal firing point – one where there wasn’t a risk that Andreas would hit Hana, too. If the other riflemen had followed suit, he did not know. The entire battle faded outside of his periphery. All he saw were Hana, the Kapavuk, and the Udzeni.

He was watching when Hana lunged towards the Kapavuk, using one of its knees as leverage, vaulting herself onto its back. He was watching when she stabbed her sword through the soft, fleshy intersection between its head and its body. And he was watching when, with a scream that rose all the way up from her heels, she leapt towards the still-approaching Udzeni. It managed to dodge, but as it flew overhead of her she thrust her sword up into its belly and held it in place as the Udzeni continued to fly, standing solid even as its insides spilled out over her.

Andreas let out a whistle loud enough for her to hear, and she looked towards him just in time to see another Kapavuk making a charge his way. “Watch out!” she shouted, running forwards, her sword feeling heavy and useless at her side.

Never to be upstaged, Andreas grabbed his gun by the muzzle and swung it at the Kapavuk’s head, making contact with a crack that sounded so relieving and so good to him that he could have sworn it was chanting his name. While the beast was stunned, Andreas twirled his rifle back into its proper position and unloaded what remained of the magazine into its brain.

Hana made a quick show of clapping and Andreas made a longer show of bowing, then both of them returned to the fray.

* * *

When the battle was over, they leaned together back-to-back, letting the night air leave its chill across their still-sweating skin.

“Truce on all the weapons talk?” Andreas said, his voice breathy but light.

Hana laughed. “Truce,” she said, “but if that thing ever gets you killed, I reserve the right to mock you until the end of time.”

“Deal.” Andreas couldn’t shake her hand, so he nudged her with his shoulder. “But only because it’ll never happen. I plan to live forever.”

Hana just closed her eyes and breathed.

Comics Coming!

Hi everyone!

As Amy said in her last post, I (Ed) am taking over for a month, while she has a bit of a holiday!

I’m going to talk to you about three amazing comics today…

Firstly, there’s the Bug War. Some of you may remember the Bug War 2 Kickstarter, which ran at the end of last year: it told the story of Liam, a James Bond-type hero who infiltrated a Ximian hive and, unfortunately, got captured, even though the information was returned!

Well, there’s more to his story and we’re going to be telling it on Kickstarter before long, so watch this space for that to appear! There will also be a chance to get hold of the previous Bug War comics, so don’t worry about catching up on the story, either…

Secondly, there’s Lobo! This comic has already been pencilled and inked, and the first few colours are coming in. I think you’ll love this story of non-Empowered in a world of people with abilities. He still chooses to stand against crime in an inspiring and unstoppable way.

You can expect to see Lobo on Kickstarter relatively soon, so keep an eye out. Oh, and I used an image from that as the featured image today! The pencils and inks are by Pramit Santra and the colours are by Bryan Arfel Magnaye.

Finally for today, I’m going to talk about Fauna. This comic is probably the most anticipated of the three, but it’s also the one with the most work still to do! The first 3 pages have been pencilled and inked by the incomparable Kellik, and they are looking fantastic!

This story is about a shapeshifter who can take the form of several different animals. Those of you who have played Era: The Empowered with us at conventions may know him through his alternate universe personality of “Shifter”. He’s going to have to protect his community from themselves in this comic, when he comes across a powerful mind controller!

Well, that’s it from me today – three awesome comics! If you want to know more, keep an eye out right here for when they are released and available… it won’t be long!

You can expect more on this in the weeks and months ahead, but in the meantime look out tomorrow for some information on Era: The Chosen, and on Monday for the second of our Stiletto 447CE Podcasts.

Era: The Consortium Update – The Oracle

As you can see from this week’s featured image, we’re still moving ahead with the completion of our Consortium miniatures project. This is really where we’re putting all our focus for the moment along with getting out the second wave of Expansions to our backers. This process will be taking up most of our energy for some time, still.

So, while we have a large number of ideas for our next set of expansions we’re not going to be putting anything out just yet. This means that news in the Consortium universe is going to get a little quiet for a while here.

However, that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down! If anything, we’re even busier than ever. Between Era: The Empowered, Era: The Chosen and more games coming very soon we’ll be picking up the slack on news and details with all these new projects.

If you’re a hardcore Consortium fan you may not be following along with our other projects. No worries, you can catch up on both our super powered universe in Era: The Empowered and our spine-tingling horror universe in Era: The Chosen by joining the Facebook groups for those games. Give them a look here and see what you might have missed!

That’s all I have for you today.

Starting next week, Ed will be taking over news posts while I have a bit of a holiday.

Until next time!

Era: The Empowered Update 8!

Hi everyone!

Just my regular Era: The Empowered Update, to let you know where we are at!

I’ve made a lot of progress on the writing and editing, which is now entirely complete – a relief to be sure! Part 5 is now with Hande for proofreading and Parts 2, 3 and 4 are with Calyie, our indexer / proofreader for her pass.

That’s good news, because it means that the book is going to be ready for beta reading very soon now… I’m going to do a proper call out when it’s ready, but I expect that to be in the next couple of weeks.

Keith is still working away on the artwork as well – another masterpiece is featured in this post, which depicts the origin of Unnamed, one of the most powerful Empowered in the whole of Terra!

That’s everything from me, so please let me know if you have any questions, and keep your eyes open for the next update…

Era: The Chosen – Wondrous Technologies

Each Clan offers their members unique technologies and abilities.

One of those is the D’Aoust defensive suit. This piece of equipment offers something no other Clan can – a chance to repel and disable any Anonassi who gets close enough in battle.

Favoured by salvagers and combatants alike, these suits will make anything that tries to eat you think twice, which is as good a reason as any to join the D’Aoust clan!

Era: The Chosen Is Coming to Kickstarter In August – The Oracle

Mark your calendars for the next big Era game! Era: The Chosen is planned to begin its Kickstarter event on August 15th and this game is unlike anything we’ve done so far.

It is created by Ed Jowett and written by Ed, Jennifer Martin (Era: The Consortium, Era: Survival, Era: The Empowered) and Darren Pearce (Dr Who, Judge Dredd, Era: The Empowered). This powerhouse team has put together something truly chilling and we can’t wait for you to check it out.

We’ve been talking about this game for some time so I’m sure most of you are pretty familiar with it already. If you’re not, there are a few places where you can get more information. Right now, Ed is releasing weekly updates about various aspects, image sneak peeks, and stories to our dedicated Facebook group. You can join in on the discussions here… https://www.facebook.com/groups/erathechosen/

You can also join our mailing list. An option to sign up is at the bottom of our website’s homepage. Either way, you’re going to get loads of details!

I also just wanted to add one more reminder that our latest card game, Evil Overlord, which is a “Project We Love” on Kickstarter, ends on Sunday! Don’t miss out on your chance to grab our latest awesome game:

Saturday I’ll be talking a bit about what’s happening in the Consortium so stop by and see what we’re up to…

See you then!

Era: The Consortium – Stiletto Unit 447CE – Character Creation Video 1: Ka’tal

Hi everyone!

I’m pleased to announce that we are beginning a videocast / podcast of actual play in Era: The Consortium’s vast universe! (The episodes will be available in audio only as well as video!)

We’re been working for a short while now to get everything together, and we’re finally ready…

The story will be based immediately after the events of the Core Rulebook (447CE), when Stiletto Unit has to be re-made after the Orion incident. The players are going to be new recruits into the unit, and we will be exploring the changes and threats in the modern Consortium!

This first video is character creation for Ka’tal, a Ximian Brain medic with a “thing” for explosives! Join Ed and Robert to explore the identity of this new character!

https://youtu.be/BVueAVYj4Bc

The first episode will be available on 2nd July, after the 4 character creation videos which will be released this week.

Don’t miss the launch of this awesome new story and, as always, let us know if you have any questions!

Status Of The Consortium – The Oracle

It’s official, Home Base is now being proofread and we expect it to be finished soon! Thank you to everyone for your patience as we worked through this last batch of expansion books. We had a mountain of content to create and we hope you really enjoy the end results of all that hard work.

I don’t want to make it sound like it’s all hard work though. We’ve had a great time putting together each of these unique books and helping to fill out the Consortium universe. With so much added content it would be natural to wonder if we’re running out of places to go in the Consortium. Well, Ed has that fully under control and even now he’s deciding which expansions are going to come next!

We have plenty of room to continue exploring and developing the Consortium but until we reveal where we’re going next we’ll just have to marvel at all these fabulous painted models that are coming through.

That’s it for me, I’ll see you back here next week for some information on our upcoming horror RPG, Era: The Chosen.

See you then!

Era: The Chosen – Brutes

Hi everyone!

One of the earliest types of Anonassi to appear and one of the most terrifying to this day, Brutes may not be intelligent but they are incredibly strong and tough.

Operating more on highly-evolved instinct once in combat, some speculate they enter a blood rage when engaged.

Either way, their activities are a terrifying sight to behold: individually, they are more than capable of ripping a Human in half, and can rout entire armies if the tactics used are not perfectly executed.

Many Chosen learn to fear Brutes from early in their time in the Lost Lands… and not without reason.

Come See What We’re Doing On Patreon – The Oracle

The Patreon offerings are growing and it’s time you heard a little more about what we’re doing. Patreon is a great way for you to help us create new things while at the same time walking away with brand-new content every month. We often test out new game ideas, share beta test copies, and give our supporters a chance to weigh in on what they’d most like to see from us. Our Patrons also score frequent bonuses and extras that aren’t always made available to anyone else. Does this sound like something you’re interested in? Well, this will be your last chance to grab all of this month’s swag so now is a fantastic time to get started in our community of supporters. patreon.com/SoV

So, what’s on offer this month?

For June we’re sending out 3 fantastic wallpapers and several game sessions. Our featured image today gives you a glimpse of the images we’re handing out. Do you know which games these are from?

In the June pack of content there is another monthly session for Era: The Consortium. Right now we’re fighting the Bug War but you’ll also be able to grab all of the previous sessions as well so there’s no fear of getting tossed into something you’re not prepared for just yet. These sessions are written by Johnathan Killstring and edited by Ed Jowett!

Also for this month you’ll receive a session for Era: Survival as well as Encounters on the Edge of Space. That’s three sessions for three different games!

If you’re a fan of fast-paced survival action I think you’ll enjoy Era: Survival. In these sessions you’ll need to protect your Foundation from attack by the various denizens of Gaia. It’s a great place to start and a really interesting and varied campaign.

Encounters on the Edge of Space is a setting-neutral campaign that includes the sort of aliens, bacteria, and technology which you could encounter anywhere in space. This allows you the freedom to use the session in any number of ways and within various universes. The choice is up to you how you’d like to play. The great part is, all of these sessions come to you free every month with your support.

If you enjoy getting new content, sneak peaks, and being part of our behind-the-scenes action then I recommend you head over to Patreon and consider joining our community. patreon.com/SoV

Saturday I will have a bit of Consortium news for you so come on back to see where we’re heading! See you then!
