These Encounters are a short “bestiary entry”, designed to be setting-neutral and rules-neutral, so they can be used in Sci-Fi games of all sorts! They are inspired by the bestiary entries you see for D&D and other fantasy games – we’ve never seen as many Sci-Fi monsters as we would like. Matthew Knighton (who is a PhD in microbiology!) and I decided to fix that with the Encounters on the Edge of Space series.
In short, we’re proud to say that we’ll be releasing monthly creatures for you to enjoy in any Sci-Fi game you like! We’re glad to be helping people add variety to their Sci-Fi tabletops!
Welcome to another fabulous round of Shades of Vengeance news! We’ve got Patreon, Kickstarter, and comic updates for you so sit back and take it all in.
First up, Comic News! Ever since our initial foray into the world of art-fueled story telling we’ve been hooked on creating these fun books. It’s a well-known fact that comics and rpgs go together like old-timey wizards and Magic Missile, so Ed and the team have been diving head first into producing great comic adventures to push the boundaries of our gaming worlds.
With that in mind, Ed will be building up our Comics division in the coming months and you can expect to see a lot more from several of your favorite characters. We’ll be starting out with a piece centered around Era: Empowered’s Violete, a super-powered heroine that I think you’re going to love. She’s going to kick off a brand new comics series and I’ll be sharing all the details with you in our regular news posts. As time goes on, we may even add a special Comics News Day to our lineup.
Comics are fantastic but what we’re here to do is play games, right? I’m excited to announce that our break-out card game, Champion of Earth will be starting its very first Expansion Kickstarter very soon! The “Robots and Cyborgs” Expansion edition will be a great add-on to your regular game and give you the opportunity to inject even more fun into this already crazy game. Through the Kickstarter you’ll also get another chance to get in on the Limited Edition Expansion deck, so newer hardcore fans should definitely check this out.
We have another first coming up for you all: the first Era: Survival campaign is debuting on Patreon this month! Long-time readers will recognize Patreon as the place to get unique Consortium content, sneak peeks, and even special offers.
Now, you’ll be able to do the same for Survival with the Era: Survival Foundation Campaign Sessions! It’s easy to join and the rewards just keep stacking so take a minute and see what we’re all about. [ www.patreon.com/SoV ]
That’s all I’ve got for today but hopefully I’ve left you plenty to think about. See you next time!

You’ve asked for it and we’re going to deliver. Ed will be bringing out the next set of Consortium Expansion books in October! This planned event will intersect with both MCM in October and AetherCon in November.
As most of you know, our last Consortium Expansion Kickstarter went gangbusters and we were able to create a ton of new books. However, there were still some that we didn’t reach and we would love an opportunity to bring them to you. Ed has taken your feedback and developed a new offering of books. The first up will be Free Trader and New Worlds, followed by many more!
This next set of expansions will bring you even further into the world of the Consortium and let you play in areas that were previously unestablished. The list of new titles is steadily growing and as we work to put together this event I’ll be able to share with you more of what we’re going to offer. So, stick close and I’ll keep you up to date on this and all our other projects.
I love conventions: meeting new people, listening to professional panels, getting in on the latest products from amazing independent creators. I do have one confession to make. I’ve never personally been to a convention. If you’re like me and you live embarrassingly far from any decent sized city there’s a good chance you haven’t been to one either. This is exactly why I’m thrilled to see Shades of Vengeance attending the AetherCon online convention November 10-12th! [ aethercon.com ]
No long drives or uncomfortable stays at cheap hotels, all you have to do is roll out of bed in your comfy clothes and start participating. This event is free to attend and so easy to participate. Shades of Vengeance will be an exhibitor this year and we’re looking forward to this unique event.
So, what can you expect to see from us there? We will have special offers on our books during the convention weekend. You will also find several Shades of Vengeance prizes in the drawings. And be sure to swing by the live Speed Painting duels where you’ll get a chance to check out our very own Keith as he demonstrates his fabulous artistic abilities. There are plenty of reasons to attend and we hope you’ll all make time to drop by.
See you all on Saturday for more news and sneak peeks!

Welcome to the nerve center of Radio Free Taranis; the place where Midnight Terry delivers some hard truths about what’s happening inside the Consortium!
Ed and a small team (which includes me!) are putting together an audio drama which will delve into the life of one citizen living in Kurma city. You might know what it’s like to kick down a door as a Resistance Operative or wheel and deal your way up the corporate ladder but have you ever stopped to consider what a random citizen of the Consortium handles on a daily basis?
In these episodes we will bring you life on Taranis from within the perspective of one man who is doing his best to wake the city from its dangerous ignorance. Reporting on what he’s seen and experienced, Terry shares the news stories that the Big Eight don’t want you to hear.
Radio Free Taranis is an ambitious project which hopes to give fans a deeper insight into the world of the Consortium, show you how expansive it is as well as help you to see the life that moves around at the edges of the playable field. This project is currently being developed and I will keep you posted as we get further along the process. However, before I leave you today… let’s meet the team!
Ed Jowett: Producer and creative director. He also lends his voice to one of the characters.
Leo Cosh: Soundscape designer and the main voice actor, Midnight Terry himself.
Amy Allworden: Episode writer.
I’m excited to be a part of this project and I can’t wait to show you all what we’ve been working on.
Our super-powered assassin game has vaulted off the charts and hit over 1,000% funded! That’s an amazing show of support and we’re thrilled to see so many people interested in this rpg. You’ve only got a couple more days to get in on this campaign, so hustle on over and check it out. We’ve got some great rewards and would love to see this game reach another Stretch Goal for everyone.
Our latest Consortium comic, the Hai-Xang Hayden story; Declaration, has just finished its Kickstarter run and came in at nearly 300% funded! Thank you to everyone who showed up and made this a great event, we’re incredibly grateful for all our amazing fans. With your support we will continue to be able to share these stories of the complex Consortium and its incredible characters.
So, what happens next if you’re a supporter? The lettering for Declaration is just finishing up and the Digital version will be going out to all backers just as soon as Kickstarter confirms the funds and the Physical versions will be sent out to backers just as soon as we can get them printed. For those of you who may have missed out on the Kickstarter, you’ll still have a chance to grab a copy if you come see us this October at the MCM convention in London.
Thank you once again to everyone who came out and showed both of these projects some support. Be sure to check out Era: Hitman if you’re the kind of player who enjoys being an assassin with a particularly unique set of skills.
From number-crunching corporate employee to savior of billions, there is perhaps no one in the Consortium with a more unexpected path to notoriety than Steve Adams.
This Hayden Bank middle manager left his steady job and went on the run when he suddenly gained a special insight into what the Big Seven were really doing. Seeking escape from those who would try to silence him, he soon found himself recruited to the Resistance. Most stories would stop here: just another disgruntled citizen to join the ranks of a rebellion… not this one.
Steve Adams realised within the Resistance that he had a special talent to bring people together. As the field commander for Stiletto unit, Steve became a lightning rod and gave so many publicised speeches he was known as “The Voice of the Resistance”. His first mission to assault a Smertios Security base not only ended successfully but without a single Resistance casualty as well!
However, even a rising star must one day fall. In spectacular fashion, Steve Adams died heroically in the Orion saving 14 billion lives. That’s quite a journey from someone who started out only caring about money.
The weekend is in sight and I’ve got a bit of game news and a brand-new image for you today. It just doesn’t get much better than this.
One of our newest titles, Era: The Chosen, is getting a notable writer added to its roster of talent. Darren Pearce will be joining the creative team behind this dark thriller and we’re excited to have him. Darren’s credits including working on such games as Dr. Who and Judge Dredd, both of which will come in handy when dealing with the nightmarish creatures existing in Erebus, the hidden universe intersecting our own reality. Keep checking back as this game progresses through development for more sneak peeks!
Speaking of getting a little glimpse, Ed has given me a special image to share with you today. For anyone who’s had a chance to play Era: The Empowered during one of our Quickstart Sessions, that we run at conventions, you may have heard Ed mention something called “The Hunger” (and possibly a giant shadow sandwich to feed it…!). This chaotic force plays a pivotal role in the world of the game and this image shows the moment that it finally arrives here on Earth. As you can see, this is going to take more than one super-powered player to handle!
Things are moving along smoothly with this game and I plan to give you more updates as work is completed. For anyone who’s been following along with the progress of this game since its inception you’ll notice that this piece of art is a departure from what we first introduced. You can expect to see the art for Empowered follow this more complex and shaded direction from here on out. I think it’s a great move and can’t wait to see more!
That’s it for today. I’ll be back Saturday with another Consortium “A History in Profiles”!

What would you do if you had all the money and power in the Consortium? You could use your influence to change lives. You could build better schools and encourage medical advances. Or, if you’re like Hai-Xang Hayden, you could party it all away.
The Hayden family has been known for generations as a respectable, cultured, manipulative and powerful family dynasty. Hayden Bank and its CEOs are the formidable driving force behind the Big Eight ruling companies of the Consortium and, as a rule, they take their position seriously. Born into a family with this sort of legacy, Hai-Xang decided not to play by that rule.
Living a life of extreme excess, Hai-Xang devoted herself to the pursuit of personal gratification at all cost. She might have continued down this self-destructive path indefinitely but for one fateful moment.
In the blink of an eye, everything changed for Hai-Xang and her awakening heralds one of the most important ages in the Consortium.
What would you do if you had all the money and power in the Consortium… at the start of the Bug War?
Be sure to catch every moment of Hai-Xang’s story with our comic, Declaration: The Bug War #1, currently over 200% funded and available through Kickstarter. You’ve only got one week left to see how it all started so don’t wait! [ http://kck.st/2rhxeNQ ]
That’s it for me this week, I’ll see you next Thursday!

Ed has been at it again, planning and working on several major games all at the same time! I’m here today with a quick round-up of what we’re doing and what you can expect to see in the coming days, weeks, and months.
I mentioned last week that our next big game, Era: The Empowered, has been greenlit and we’re pushing ahead on this game as we speak. I’ve read through some of the stories for this one and I really think you guys are going to like where this is heading. It’s a 90’s era superhero style game with enough playable history to keep you interested for a good long time.
One of our newer titles, Era: The Chosen, has its team all set and ready to develop. Ed will be joined by our own veteran horror writer, Jennifer. Jennifer has worked on the Consortium Core Rulebook, the Revival expansion, as well as Era: Survival and many more of our other projects. They’re working together to develop something truly fantastic with this game and they have loads planned.
Along with these two games, I’ve heard it rumoured that Ed is working on another card game. All I know right now is that it will involve Era: Survival. More details about this secret project will trickle down soon, I hope, and I’ll pass them along as soon as I can!
As long as I’m on the subject of card games; Ed is also working full-steam-ahead on the Champion of Earth expansion. I don’t have any serious details to give you but I am allowed to share with you one image. This is the card back for Robots and Cyborgs. It’s looking great already. Can’t wait to share more with you.
I mentioned last week that the Consortium hasn’t finished growing, in fact it’s only just begun! Today I’ve got some details about what you can expect with this next burst of expansions. Settle in, because there’s so much to talk about!
The Free Trader book will let you trade cargo all across the Consortium. It will cover rules and processes for carrying various types of cargo as well as getting the best prices by travelling all across the known Consortium. It will also allow you to face off against pirates and raiders, or if you’re feeling rebellious you can even join them yourself!
The Home Base book will allow players to establish their own bases. They will need to work hard to maintain their base as a safe location and it’s going to be harder than it sounds but you will have plenty of flexibility. Will you choose a spaceship, like the Wallace from Dice and Stuff, or a grounded ship such as the one from Fifth Race, or perhaps even an underground bunker like the one Keela started out protecting? The choice is yours and each one will come with its own list of challenges so choose carefully.
The Predictive Genetic Algorithm book will give players the chance to create their own alien races. What better way could there possibly be to influence the world of the Consortium than to develop your own race? This book will give you the ability assign bonuses and penalties as you see fit.
The New Worlds book will give players a chance to explore a brand new solar system in the modern era of the Consortium’s history. It is co-written by Darren Watts, a writer behind Hero, Conan and many other games. After stumbling upon a wormhole on the outskirts of the Damara system you must decide what you’re going to do. This new system could be filled with wondrous adventures or fatal challenges, it takes a brave player to explore something so uncharted.
The Resistance Handbook will provide new equipment, backgrounds, and bonuses for playing as a member of the Resistance. This huge book is going to be an absolute must-have for any Resistance unit and is co-written by the amazing Steffie de Vaan, a writer of the Vampire, Conan, 7th Sea, and many other games!
This is just a sample of the books that Ed has planned for future release. Whether you’re the kind of player who’d like to develop your own stronghold, explore the unseen wonders of a new world, or infiltrate and take down targets as a Resistance operative; you’ll have plenty to keep you busy.
As work progresses on these books I will keep you posted. Which one are you looking forward to most?
The last expansion from our most recent Consortium Kickstarter has been sent out to all backers!
After receiving an in-depth treatment, this book is over double its intended size and we’re excited to present it to everyone. Right now, Ed is getting the printing sorted and then we will have fulfilled the entire Consortium Expansions Kickstarter! It has been an amazing journey to develop and create all of these extra books. Thank you to all of our backers, without you this wouldn’t have been possible.
Of course, that’s not the end of the Consortium. Ed still has plans to develop some of those books that we hadn’t quite reached through Stretch Goals as well as some brand-new ideas. I will do my best to keep you informed with all the latest details as we dig further into the massive world of the Consortium.
Before I leave you today, Ed has given me a piece of art for you. More artwork is coming in every day and this recently completed piece is from our veteran artist, Sophia. From the Free Trader book, we get a glimpse into Hardcastle Haulage Trading Station in orbit around Essus.
After a long convention period, things are slowly returning to normal back at Shades of Vengeance HQ. Our Spring convention season is always busy but this time around Ed and the team were able to introduce hundreds of new people to our games! It was an amazing turnout and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who stopped by to ask questions or play a session with us. We had a fantastic time and we hope that you did as well.
Due to the phenomenal response Ed received at UKGE for Champion of Earth, he’s decided to start putting together this game’s first expansion. We’ve only just broken ground and we’re already adding to our first-ever card game, fantastic!
This expansion deck will add Robots and Cyborgs to the roster of enemies facing you. But, don’t get discouraged because Ed will also be giving you some unique and handy equipment to help you defeat these menaces.
We have a lot to look forward to this summer and we’ve started to clear a path to our next big game, Era: The Empowered! The book’s timeline has, after an in-depth review by both Ed and John, been agreed upon and is starting to move forward. We’ve been eagerly anticipating this game and can’t wait to share this expansive story with you.
The only thing I have left for you today is a quick roundup of the Era: Survival Kickstarter Expansion. This event finished over 100% funded and unlocked 3 expansion books as well as a Definitive Edition Rulebook! Thank you to everyone who participated and came out to support this game. As things move along I’ll keep you updated as to the status of these rewards.
Have a great weekend and we’ll see you all Saturday!

If you missed the campaign, it’s not too late! You can still join in via PayPal and get the same rewards!
Thanks so much for your support during this campaign, and I hope you enjoy Era: Survival! Stay tuned here to find out about the completion and distribution schedule in our weekly updates, as well as what we have coming next…!
I’ve gone through each one of the huge number of expansions we’d like to create in these posts and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank anyone who’s been following along and has read them all!
I’ve had a lot of questions about the various factions as we’ve gone, and I wanted to therefore let you know that a significant amount of background is available on them, thanks to the original Era: Survival Kickstarter.
This full-colour, 230-page A4 book has been created to give you everything you need to explore Gaia.
Like all of our Rulebooks, it is divided into 5 parts.
Part 1 includes stories to describe what life is like there, details for the various areas which you may encounter, a list of factions (along with a brief description of their allies and enemies), and a one-page summary for people who want to get started right away!
Part 2 includes a huge number of character creation options, allowing you to define your Background, Quirks, Specialities and Karma for any character! It also includes the rules on levelling up.
Part 3 is devoted to Equipment and the Bestiary. The Equipment is divided into tiers, from 1 (extremely common) to 9 (a limited number exist in the world), and Crafting rules are included for those who wish to create improvised weapons or medicines in the field! The Bestiary includes a large number of creatures, as well as a number of biomorphs which they may undergo to increase their powers!
Part 4 is the Rules, and includes all of the rules that you need to play the game, including useful Flow Charts for Combat!
Part 5 is the GM Section. It includes general advice on running an Era: Survival game, along with some thoughts on what it means to play Survival Horror. Worked Examples are included as well, providing a detailed walkthrough of how various parts of the game work. Finally, it includes a huge range of pre-made campaigns, which vary in substance massively and will keep any group interested for 30 or more sessions!
This book embodies the essence of Era: Survival, and I cannot recommend it enough!
I hope you’ll join us in finding out the answer to the only question that matters on Gaia:
Today, I’m talking about the White Cross Source Book.
As the only faction with working helicopters, the White Cross could have military superiority over everyone else on Gaia. Instead, they devote themselves to production and distribution of Injection, the one substance that delays the decline of the Human race.
Infection can only be countered by this drug, which serves as a vaccination, as long as it is taken daily by every member of the population for their entire lives…
The White Cross is devoted to its distribution, and to ensuring Humanity holds on for as long as possible. They believe that the species will adapt, eventually, to Infection and they hope to keep everyone alive until that happens.
This Source Book features information about their impressive facilities, unique Character Creation options for the travelling medics which they send to roam Gaia, and much more.
Being part of the White Cross is dangerous, as much as any profession on Gaia…
Today, I’m talking about the Vault Hunters Source book.
Vault Hunters come in all shapes and sizes. Some are survivalists, some are expert engineers and some are just strong enough to break down anything in their way.
Together, they can make an excellent team, and several parts of the Core Rulebook are devoted to exactly that sort of Campaign.
The Vault Hunters Source Book will offer new Character Creation options, rare and specialised equipment for entering and using the systems within vaults, as well as a number of examples of vault layouts and the sorts of technology you’re likely to come across.
With this source book, you’ll be prepared for any type of vault you may encounter, from a community that escaped the destruction to an abandoned military facility crammed full of gear!
The question, though, with any entry into a Vault is always…
Today, I’m talking about the third part of the Foundation Campaign!
With the hard times behind your community, it thrives for a short time. However, that’s enough to draw the attention of the Organisation of Friends. The group that runs City doesn’t take kindly to upstart and successful communities which are well-equipped enough to survive an attack from The Swarm.
They’re likely to start by offering luxury to the party…
If they refuse, however, they can expect to face the full forces of one of the best-equipped factions on Gaia. Will the team be able to negotiate an agreement with the Organisation?
The second half of this book involves a raid by some of the less friendly Citizens of Aqua. While the party are away, they land at Foundation’s edge and abduct a number of the most promising citizens as slaves, intending to work them to death or trade them in some of the less discerning areas. Setting fire to the town, they leave.
The party will have some hard choices to make, between retribution and survival.
UKGE was great fun, thank you to everyone who dropped by to talk to us about Era: Survival!
You’ll remember that two days ago, I told you about the Runners.
Today, I’m talking about the Runner’s Guide to Gaia, a book which provides a huge amount of information about various specific locations across Gaia, their blacklist status and what sorts of goods the population usually wish to transport.
This book provides loads of details for any party who wish to be Runners, but also much more!
It provides details about many minor locations of Gaia, allowing a party to truly explore the civilised regions and experience the variety of life which Gaia offers.
Whether the group are Runners or not, this book can be a valuable addition to any Era: Survival Game. Gaia is huge and dangerous…
Of course, if you’re not there, you can always leave any questions you have on Facebook or Twitter and we’ll be happy to answer!
Today, I’m talking about the University of Planet, arguably the most advanced faction of Humanity on Gaia.
They don’t believe in contact with the outside world. Instead, they work within the secluded and sealed Base 9, seldom allowing anyone in or out. They face frequent attacks from both Infected and Raiders – the latter believe there must be something of great value inside for the University of Planet to protect so fiercely.
Until now, both types of attack have been unsuccessful, repelled by automated weaponry and well-equipped troops of a type Gaia doesn’t usually present.
The scientists of the University are working to create a cure for Infection. Within Base 9, they have had nearly 100 years of working towards the goal. They don’t care for the rest of Humanity, remaining isolated and concentrating on their work to save the species.
This Source Book offers special equipment and armour, new Character Creation options, such as Base 9 defectors and much more.
Step into the advanced technology of Base 9 and use it to face the horrors of Gaia. Even with these resources, the question remains…
If you’re attending UKGE, we’re running Era: Survival games, along with various others, in the Demo Room of UKGE! Come and join us for a shorter game than the arranged sessions!
Today, I’m talking about the Runners Source Book.
The Runners are one of the most powerful factions on Gaia. Even some groups of Raiders steer clear of them, because being blacklisted by them means being cut off from communication for ever.
The Runners travel from one place to another, commissioned to carry messages. It’s dangerous work, but it pays extremely well. On the rare occasion a Runner survives into their 30’s, they usually are able to retire on the Brass they make.
Of course, there’s more than just Raiders out there – Infected may attack at any time, and the Swarm don’t respect the Runners in the way others do. The biggest question for Runners is…
Shades of Vengeance are returning to UK Games Expo: you can find us on your left as you go down Asmodee Street (the cross street is currently unnamed, but comes after FFG Avenue!).
We create games because we love doing it, and you’ll quickly see that the last year has been a busy one! We have loads going on at the convention, but here are a few of the headlines:
After a very successful Kickstarter for Era: The Consortium’s expansions (which unlocked 8 expansions through Stretch Goals!), we’ve started one for fan favourite Era: Survival, which will run through the convention!
Our top-notch team from the Consortium expansions has shifted their attention onto the world of Gaia and its factions, as they fight for dominance and to defeat the Infected.
Will you Survive?
If you want to talk to us about the game, some of the writers on the project will be there. You can even give it a try: just drop by our stand and we’ll run you through it!
Era: Lyres Pocket Edition – UKGE RPG of the Year
Our later version of Era: Lyres cut the book down to the minimum necessary amount of material. We’re now able to offer the full-colour Pocket Edition for just £5 in Physical Format.
It’s been nominated for the UKGE Awards, so don’t forget to vote (or drop by our stall and grab a copy)!
In celebration of Era: Lyres’s nomination, we’re giving away free dice bags with the Era: Lyres logo, so drop by and grab a home for your dice!
Shades of Vengeance have completed our first card game! Some people may remember playtesting an idea of Ed’s, “Champion of Earth”, where you fight off Aliens, Undead and Creatures who are attempting to take over the world.
You take the role of one of 6 heroes who fight back against these creepifying invaders in this fast-playing, light-hearted card game!
The full game is finally ready and is being released to the public at UKGE 2017! We’ll be running demos and have copies available for purchase, so don’t forget to drop by and try it out.
Our latest Roleplaying Game is another addition to our Pocket collection. In Era: Hitman, released for the first time at UKGE, you play as a super-powered assassin in a world inspired by Assassin’s Creed and the Hitman games.
However, your powers are not unlimited – you’ll quickly find that you run out of abilities if you overuse them! Will you be able to take down your target without being detected?
We’ll be running demos of Era: Hitman and have the first set of printed copies for sale at UKGE 2017!
We’re constantly working on new games, as well as enhancing our existing ones. You can join us to test out some of the most recent games under development, including our latest card game, which has the working title Era: Survival – Colony.
In this game, players work together as a team to protect your small town from the various aggressors in the world of Gaia. Experience Era: Survival from a different perspective!
Also get a sneak peek about what we have coming, including Era: The Chosen, Era: Survival expansions and much more!
The 7 new expansions which were unlocked on Kickstarter in October and are now completed will be available to anyone who missed the campaign and wants to catch up. They are all independent and compatible with either the Core Rulebook or Rulebook Primer!
The Secret War brings players the opportunity to take on the mantle of a Shade or, on the Resistance side, a Phantom (operatives trained to defeat Shades) in addition to their other roles. Gain access to new implants, weapons and ships and fulfil your own mission alongside your party!
The Fifth Race brings not only the Pliangrathilon as a playable race, but a new range of equipment, weapons and armour to the players, almost 50% as much again as was in the Core Rulebook! It also provides rules for weapon and armour enhancement through crafting.
Rapier offers a new approach to hacking in Era: The Consortium. Within a computer’s virtual environment, an experienced hacker can be as good at Combat as any of their soldier teammates! This expansion includes the rules for “immersive hacking”, examples of the programs found within the systems and multiple programs that can be used to defeat them!
The Time Travel Campaign, in three parts, includes a brand new prologue session, pre-made characters and 30 sessions, along with a list of equipment, armour and weapons to help you on your mission.
A New Dawn offers players the chance to gain psionic abilities such as mind control, memory draining, telepathic linking and mind lash! It contains all the relevant rules for this, along with describing the inevitable decline into madness characters with these abilities undergo.
New at our Stall: Sound Corner
Our soundscaper and audio expert, Leo, has set up a “sound corner” for our booth, along with a competition!
We’re going to have a competition to make the best noise that you would expect Ximian speech to sound like. The best is going to get a brilliant prize – all of the Era: The Consortium books (including expansions!) on one of our Era: The Consortium Memory Cards (Value £65).
If that’s not enough to convince you to have a go, in addition, the sound will be used as the basis for one of the characters in an upcoming audio drama we are working on! It’s a fantastic opportunity to get your talent out into the world, so come by and ask about it on any of the three days the main hall is open!
Era: The Consortium Organised Play
Join our excellent GM, Phil, to play fan-favourite Era: The Consortium through the organised Roleplaying for the convention. He’ll be running two sessions of Era: The Consortium during the weekend: Join the newly-formed Stiletto Unit in their attempt to uncover a plot which threatens the Consortium!
You can join us at our stand for the last chapter in Stiletto Unit’s story as well, a 20-to-30-minute demo session which will introduce you to the game at the climax of the 500-year history.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll be available and able to run demos of all our games, new and old:
Join us in defending the Earth from an alien invasion in Champion of Earth!
Save 14 billion lives in our Era: The Consortium session, the Last Stand of Stiletto Unit, set at the climax of the game’s 500 year history!
Find and rescue your employer’s old friend, but avoid both Raiders and Infected in the Era: Survival Session!
Tell a story of your amazing adventures in Era: Lyres, and earn the adoration of the people of Yarnolth!
Join a group of superheroes in Era: The Empowered and defeat the greatest supervillain the Earth has ever seen!
Band together with your friends to face the challenges of the Isle in Era: Silence, and earn your name as a warrior!
Eliminate your target in Era: Hitman, using your amazing abilities such as gravity control and force field creation!
Last year, we joined a panel about Roleplaying Game design, and we’re not able to do so this year, but our team is happy to talk to you about any aspect of your game that you’re interested in discussing.
We help people to create their games through ImagineRPG.com, ensuring that all of the control remains with you, so consider dropping by and talking to us about any game ideas that you need help making a reality!
And much more…
It’s not really possible to put everything we’ll be doing in this news article! However, feel free to drop by our stall and find out more about our games and what we’re trying to do!
You can find us on Asmodee Street on the street after FFG Avenue (which currently has no name!).
A few days ago, I wrote a little about the Foundation Campaign, Part 1. Well, as I indicated, this campaign is going to continue and we’ve planned a lot of it out.
Part 2 will begin with a showdown with the Cult of Progression. When they convince half of the population of your town to hand themselves over for Infection, what will the players do?
It doesn’t end there, though. After defeating the Cult of Progression and their Potestates allies, the people will return to find themselves under siege by the Swarm. In their toughest challenge yet, will the party be able to protect the Foundation from the inexorable advance of Drones?
Inevitably, in a situation like the one on Gaia, some Humans don’t like the bounds of acceptable society and would rather prey on others. On Gaia, these are known as Raiders.
They are less a faction than a loose group of warring alliances. Even so, they can pose a huge threat to towns, and even City or Crossroads, if the defences are low.
Mostly, they focus on raids on convoys, accosting unsuspecting travellers and wars amongst themselves. However, it has been known for them to attack and take over towns, forcing the townspeople into servitude.
The Raiders Source Book allows players to take on the roles of these unsavoury characters and roam Gaia.
But when all you have is stolen, food is scarce, and Injection even more so…
Today, I’m talking about Potestates, one of the most feared factions on Gaia. The members of this faction believe that Infection can be harnessed and used for the good of Humanity. Specifically, they believe that they can give themselves the physical power of the Infected Mutants without being controlled by the parasites… as long as they kind find a way to block the Infection’s influence.
To that end, they experiment on various Human test subjects.
Potestates believe that true power over the Infection is obtainable by them, if they try hard enough.
They have maimed and infected hundreds of people in the pursuit of this dream, but they are convinced they are getting closer and will continue until they succeed.
This Source Book not only provides the opportunity to play as a member of Potestates, but also imagines what might be possible if they were able to succeed.
It provides a number of new Character Creation options around superhuman abilities. Of course, even beginning this process is dangerous, and they may be long-term side effects.
