Getting Ready To Send Out Marked For Death!

Things are moving along very fast in the world of Marked for Death. Now that the Kickstarter has ended we’re getting ready to print and ship out copies to our backers just as soon as the funds are released. We’re excited to be bringing you another game designed by one of our independent creators. If you’ve got a great story to tell and would like some help getting your game off the ground don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ve worked with RPG’s at every level of completion from almost done to only a fabulous concept.

In other game news; Frontier is currently working on the fine-tuning of its armor mechanics. We want to make sure that it all works together with the rule system that Ed has designed. There has been a slight delay with our Eden game due to a situation that developed with our creator. We hope everything works out for them and that work can resume as soon as possible. That’s it for big news this week, I hope to have more details soon.

Until next week!

More Expansion Details – The Oracle

Last week I showed you a first draft of the homeworld for our new alien species. Apart from being a bit rocky and quite a bit drafty it’s rather a lot like my first apartment. Now that you’ve seen where they come from I can’t wait for you to meet our newest characters. This second expansion is just starting to develop right now and I’ll try to bring you slices of information as I collect them.

As far as our first expansion goes, we’re getting the Secret War down to its last bits. The story artwork and cover are really the only things left! It will take us a little longer than expected because we’ve decided to make a change and go in a different direction with the cover image. Even with that, we expect to have this game out hopefully by the end of this year. I’m sure you know by now that we absolutely refuse to skimp on quality and give you a game that isn’t perfect. When it’s ready we want you to love this expansion just as much as you loved the original!

Keep coming back each week and I’ll let you know as we get closer to these awesome additions to the Consortium universe.

See you next week!

Era: The Empowered and Era: Survival

Hi everyone!

With Marked For Death waiting for funds to come in from Kickstarter and Lyres just waiting on print runs to be delivered, I have had a little more time to work on my two newest games, Era: The Empowered and Era: Survival.

The Era: The Empowered Primer is just undergoing layout. Keith and I are finalising the look and feel – I think you are all going to be impressed!

I am also looking around for an artist who can help me out with the massive numbers of Empowered concepts – for both champions and villainous characters. A few people have applied, but finding someone who I can work with and bring you cool-looking designs is very important!

Era: Survival is coming along. Freddie and I have been working on the factions and locations and we just today received our first draft piece of artwork for this new game, which displays the location of a group of researchers, known as Base 9. I expect Amy (The Oracle) will be trying to talk me into showing you the artwork for this as it comes, so you likely don’t have too long to wait!

That is everything from me today, I will be back next week with more news about what I am doing!

Time to Meet Your Maker! – The Oracle

Game maker, that is. In just two short weeks you’ll have a chance to meet and play with the creator of our Era games! Ed will be attending the one day gaming event at  Dragondaze in South Wales on September 19th. Do you have your tickets yet?

He will bring copies of Era: The Consortium, Era: Lyres and, of course, a collection of our indie comics. Proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Barnardos Young Carers charity; a fabulous organization that provides assistance to youth who help care for a sick or disabled relative. To help support this unique charity Ed has decided to donate copies of some of our games which will be sold for charity during the event. We will be running two tables and can’t wait to see everyone. Bring your friends or bring your grandmother, just make sure to be there!

In other Era news, you may have noticed we now have a sub-site on our main webpage for the latest Era game. As you can see we’ve just started putting it together but keep checking back because we’re hard at work and changes are coming soon!

Those of you waiting on Marked for Death Kickstarter rewards, I can tell you that once the funds are delivered to us, about a week, we can begin to get things out to you. We’re on the downhill side and things are going to start moving pretty quick!

I’ll see you next week!

Making Progress – The Oracle

As I’m sure you’re aware; creating Role Playing Games is hard work. It takes weeks and months of planning and production to make a fabulous end product. We love seeing an RPG go from idea to playable content but the process isn’t all fireworks and champagne. Most of our time is spent in day to day development. Here’s what we’re up to right now…

This week Ed and Keith are continuing to work on the game’s art. Things are plugging along nicely and they’ve finished all of the full pages of art which frees them up to focus on the half page images. In addition to the new art, Ed has also come up with a fabulous new character sheet that’s going to knock your socks off, if you’re wearing socks.

We’ve got a long road ahead of us but this game is looking great and we really hope that we can bring it with us to the MCM Comicon in October. Come join us for a game!

See you next week!

Rewards Rundown – The Oracle

Rulebooks are on the move! Ed has received the UK printed proof for both the hardcover and softcover editions. Aside from a small omission on the hardcover prints it all looked smashing. So, once the printer fixes that hiccup they’ll be sent to Ed who will then ship them out for all the backers who are expecting UK soft and hardcover books. It’s official, you can now get excited!

Ed sent over some wonderful photos and I’ll pass them along so you know what you’re getting. I think it turned out great!

So here’s where we stand so far with the rest of the rewards. We’re still waiting for the US proof to be ready, crossing all fingers and toes that it happens soon. Lettering for the comic is well underway. Digital maps of Yarnolth were sent and we’re working on getting the cloth versions ready as well. The Traveller’s Guide just needs a bit more polishing before it too will be finished. It looks like things in the Lyres universe are coming together! Keep checking here for more updates.

See you next week!

Marked For Death Kickstarter over 300% funded!

File this under; Success! The Marked for Death Kickstarter raced past its goal to achieve over 300% funding. Our heartfelt thanks go out to each and every supporter. We truly have the best fans in the business, you guys are amazing!

So, you’re likely wondering what’s happening right now on the road to completion. The team is working hard at finalizing the game, busy in discussions regarding the details of levelling up and they’re getting quite close to finished. Ed’s come to the end of his first round of edits and things are looking great.

We really hope to get this book out early and if all goes as planned we hope to be bringing copies with us to MCM Comicon in October. Come check us out!

See you next week!

Meeting the New Neighbours – The Oracle

There’s more to the Consortium universe than we’ve been letting on. In our second expansion game we pull back the curtain to reveal a new world and a new species. Are they peaceful, are they violent? Could they tip the currently precarious balance of power and send everyone spinning into chaos? You’ll just have to wait and see.

For now, all I can give you is this concept image of their homeworld. Looks cozy, doesn’t it? Let’s all just cross our fingers and hope they turn out to be friendly.

Until next week, keep on rolling!

Marked For Death, Empowered Character Sheets and naming games!

Hi everyone!

It’s been a really busy week over here.

The Marked For Death Kickstarter reached a successful conclusion, just short of the $1000 stretch goal. Never mind, Sanchit and I are finishing up the edits on the book and we expect to deliver ahead of schedule! Sanchit is also talking about what more he wants to do, so keep your eyes peeled for more on Marked For Death!

I’m working on Empowered Character sheets today, for the campaign that will come with the Primers at MCM Comicon. It’s quite hard work, I need to fill out each sheet for 7 characters, along with backstory info and descriptions of their powers! Each one is getting time and effort to make sure it looks great!

I’ve also been writing campaign stories – I have it planned out for around 9 or 10 sessions now… though we’ll only be offering 3 at this time, I expect people will want more before long!

The artwork for Empowered is coming along great and I think we should be finished pretty soon now! Not quite ready to give you a date yet, I’m afraid, but I don’t think it’ll be long at all.

Lyres Proofs have arrived yesterday and today and they are looking good! I’ve signed off both the paperback and the hardbacks for the UK so you can expect them to be printed soon and shipped as soon as they get to me!

Era: The Consortium’s Shade expansion took a bit of a hit, we’re changing the artist who’s doing the cover. It’s not a big deal, but it might delay it just a little. I’ll get back to you on the details of what you can expect to see soon.

We’ve finally named our “Survival Horror” game, the one that the Oracle’s been mentioning: we’re going to call it Era: Survival. I know what you’re thinking – it’s not very innovative – but we looked at over a hundred other options and none of them quite hit the mark for what we wanted for this game. So, expect more new on Era: Survival before long!

– Ed

Another Kicksarter Success! – The Oracle

Ring the bell and send the judges home; it’s all over folks. The Marked for Death Kickstarter event has officially ended at over 300% funded!

Thank you to all the fabulous people who backed this game; you’ve made it a success and helped to turn a dream into a reality. So, where do we go from here? The team behind the creation of this game are busy finalizing and working hard to make the end product as great as it can be. Once all of our backers receive their reward copies we hope to bring this game with us to conventions so be sure to check in with us at MCM Comicon in October and see if we’ve got it.

In Era game news, I can tell you that our Survival Horror RPG is coming along well. The writing and rules creation are steadily being developed by our team of apocalypse survival experts; Ed and Freddie. They are dedicated to bringing you up to speed on how to live and possibly thrive in a zombie infested world.

This game is going to have an unprecedented amount of art and in order to make that happen we’re looking into possibly hiring another artist for this project. The game will include a deck of over 50 playable cards, complete with images! I mentioned a few weeks back how good and bad actions will have their own consequences, well these cards will play a rather large part in that mechanic. I’ll be sure to get you more details as soon as I catch them.

Check back next week to see what we’re up to!

Teaming Up To Achieve Great Things! – The Oracle

These past couple of posts I’ve been going on and on about how hard Ed and Keith have been working. Today, I am pleased to tell you that I finally get to show off some of what they’ve accomplished!

Forever Fight As One Websafe

This piece isn’t quite polished yet but it still looks great. In the Empowered universe, teamwork can sometimes win you surprising results. Abilities can combine to form something amazing. Don’t be afraid to work together, you never know what could happen!

Work is coming along great and the team is confident that we will be ready to bring this to MCM Comicon in October. We hope to see you there!

I’ll be back next week with more news!

All Points Bulletin! – The Oracle

Be on the lookout! If you’re walking around London today and you happen to see a red-bearded dwarf reading a copy of Era: Lyres could you direct him towards Ed’s house?

The paperback UK proof has gone missing somewhere between the postal station and its destination. We have a feeling that one mischievous Lyre named Ronnie Bowfingers might be to blame for this mixup. He’s done this before at the beginning of our Kickstarter and he’s a dedicated troublemaker! With any luck he’ll be found in no time at all.

Because of this unfortunate bit of trouble the printer will need to print and post it all over again. We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting so patiently for this game. Once the new copy gets to Ed we’ll post photos and get things moving again.

Thank you for your understanding and if you see that dwarf feel free to shove him in our direction!

See you next week!

72 Hours – The Oracle

What can you do in less than 72 hours? You could fly to Kathmandu and eat a Momo dumpling. You could get Scuba certification. You could watch all the 007 James Bond films and still have time to spare. Or… you could get yourself a copy of Marked for Death.

The doors are slowly closing and your window to be a part of this great game is shutting. We’re entering the final stretch of this Kickstarter and in honor of that I’m going to share with you some of what the creator of this game has said.

Q&A

What makes this project particularly special in your eyes?

“… With Marked for Death, I’ve effectively ripped out a lot of what makes Fate easy and replaced it with more challenging mechanics. It keeps the methods and simplicity of Fate, but turns things around to create a totally different feel when you’re playing the game…”

RPG.net

What separates this module from all the other FATE modules out there?

“FATE believes that the character is awesome, and that they can do anything they put their mind to. Marked for Death, simply, doesn’t…”

Check out the links to each full interview for more detail from the game’s creator. Sanchit will be joining us during the MCM Comicon in October to run a few sessions of this game so make plans to come see us!

If you’re a fan of FATE we’ve got another game you’re going to love. You may have heard me talk before about Defend the Planet. This game features some interesting tech like Bioroids and hovertanks as well as boasting alien invasions. They’ve just settled on an official title; Flames in Paradise. Sounds like a good time to me!

I’ll be keeping you up to date as we get further along with our second FATE game so stay tuned and I’ll see you next week!

Expanding the Universe – The Oracle

Last week you got to know a little more about one of the Consortium’s stunning characters. Keelaa is a vibrant Resistance operative with a deadly set of skills and a history of coming out on top of things. She’s just one of so many fabulous characters over the 500+ years captured in this game. You can find even more information about organizations, people, places, and key moments in history at our Backstory page. Hours of entertainment, guaranteed!

You might be wondering why this particular game has such a rich history with our company. I’ll tell you. Era: The Consortium was Ed’s first dream. This is our flagship game and we’re going to keep supporting everything about it. In Ed’s own words, “I won’t abandon it!”

So what does that mean for all the fans and folks who love Consortium? Along with The Secret War we’re planning two more expansions! More stories, more characters, more tech and more fun. Hold on to your seat because the additions have only just begun.

Right now, The Secret War is working through the Editing and Layout stages of development. The artwork is still being worked on but the writing is complete. It’s really moving ahead!

To give you an idea of how things are looking Ed’s given us a concept sketch of the front cover image. There’s more where this came from and you can expect to follow The Consortium through all our exciting additions as we move forward.

Until next time!

Era Games Galore, Marked For Death Kickstarter End…

Hi everyone!

I’m doing another (editing) pass on the Era: The Empowered Primer while Keith finishes off the artwork and the deeply awesome new character sheet we’re working on. Our first version was a bit of an “ink sucker”, so we’ve had to cut that back a little on the vibrant colours! I still think it’ll look brilliant, we’re working very hard on it to make sure you’ll love it!

The artwork is coming along nicely as well – you can expect to see some more of what we have underway on Wednesday, in the normal Empowered slot. Everything is going nicely, I expect to have Era: The Empowered’s Primer ready on schedule!

Unfortunately, the Era: Lyres proof has not arrived on schedule, I’m going to have to have the company re-send it, which is going to result in a delay – apologies, guys, situation out of my control.

I’m also working hard on the new Survival Horror game that I’m creating, based on an enhanced Era d10 Ruleset. I need to come up with a good title for it before I create a subsite, but I think you can expect that as soon as I come up with one. This game is going to have a very different look and feel to anything I’ve done before and I’m really looking forward to it!

The new expansion for Era: The Consortium – “The Secret War” has loads of artwork underway, and it’s looking truly awesome. I don’t think it’ll be long before it’s ready now… We’ll keep you posted on the Saturday updates, of course! I’ve actually started writing for the second, which will introduce a new playable race for the game… and bring a lot of questions to the forefront which will be very relevant to the future of the Consortium.

The Marked For Death Kickstarter is heading for the end now, we’re inside the last week. I’m hoping the last 48-hour “Remind Me” boom will be enough to push it past the Stretch Goal, because the guys backing it have been awesome!

I think that’s everything from me today! Have a good one and drop any questions or comments you have on our Facebook page (especially if you can think of a name for the Survival Horror game!).

– Ed

Kickstarter Approaching Deadline! – The Oracle

This is your 5 day warning: Marked for Death is coming down in less than a week! Don’t panic, there are plenty of great rewards still available like digital and physical rulebooks, extra sessions and an opportunity to feature your very own character on the website as a sample. Besides rewards we’ve also got Stretch Goals that we’re coming really close to achieving. There’s still time to unlock some of those fabulous extras so get in, get on it, and get playing!

Our newest image for this game features an assassin with water skills. How do you keep out someone who can slide in through the drain pipes?!

Water Form

Once the Kickstarter is complete we will be carrying Marked for Death along to conventions, so if you see us at one, don’t be shy, ask to take a look at this brand new game!

As long as I’m talking about conventions, I want to remind everyone that we’re going to be at MCM Comicon this October 23-25 in London. I know you’ve probably already got your tickets booked, reserved your couchsurfing flat, and organized someone to look after the cat. If you haven’t, I will now pause for you to do so…

Alright, I’m back. I hope you’re coming to see us because we’re bringing along an unprecedented number of folks which will allow us to run 3 games simultaneously! We’ve got a pile of GM’s ready to be put to work and a fistful of game options. We’re bringing two different sessions of Era: The Consortium, Era: Lyres, Era: The Empowered, and we’ll run a few sessions of Order of the Link and Marked for Death if there’s demand. Got those tickets yet?

Before I leave you today, I’d like to hand out a little more information about our newest Era game. I mentioned a few week ago that this will be our first survival horror game and we can’t wait to get our hands dirty… figuratively speaking, that is.

This game includes not just the normal things you expect from an Era game, but will also have a Karma system, combined with cards, where you’ll have different abilities for Good, Bad and Neutral actions. Sometimes it will pay to be bad but are the rewards worth the costs? I’ll keep you updated with this and all our other new games as the weeks go on.

See you next time!

Busy Creating Campaigns – The Oracle

Ed has been spending the last few days writing sessions for our Primer. It’s a fun job but there’s quite a bit that goes into every one: each campaign includes a unique story, a full scenario and gameplay stats for enemies and whatever you might encounter. If you’re familiar with our Era: The Consortium Campaign, you might recognize this setup. We want to make sure that people have a great time when they play one of our games and to do that we like to give you as many tools as possible.

Each Primer will come with playable sessions. That should be plenty to get you started and rolling on your own. These three sessions will follow the seven characters who feature in the robot image we posted a few weeks back. You may recognize them as the same characters that folks play when they join us at conventions.

“The Truth”, the session that we run at conventions, is one of these three… if you’ve sat with us for a game, don’t worry about having already played one of the sessions already, though! Ed is doing some tweaking and when finished  it will be a full length 4+ hour session with a different ending so the game should still feel fresh and provide a few twists and turns, even to those who may have seen it before.

Before I let you go today, I want to ask you a question. We’ve been talking about setting up a Patreon campaign to give people access to these ongoing sessions – no matter how hard we try, we can’t stop Ed from creating more. It’s worked very well with Consortium and I’d like to know, what do you think? Would you like to see these sessions available on Patreon? Shoot us a comment and let us know.

That’s it for me today. Right about now, Keith and Ed are somewhere locked in a deep creative meeting of the minds and hopefully churning out armloads of amazing artwork. Best of luck to them!

I’ll have more news next week!

– A

No Dice and Stuff this week!

Hi everyone!

The eagle-eyed among you will have already noticed that there’s no Dice and Stuff episode of Consortium this week.

You’ll have to wait till next week to find out the outcome of the big Scimitar / Kukri fight, I’m afraid!

In the meantime, consider checking out Dice and Stuff’s Humaeon Campaign – it’s a pretty cool concept and we all know those guys are going to get into massive amounts of trouble.

The Proof is in the Works – The Oracle

Loads of things are on the move for Lyres this week!

First of all, the order for a soft cover proof has gone out on our UK edition, with the hardcover to follow shortly, and should be arriving with Ed very soon. Getting excited yet? It won’t be long now. Once he gets his hands on it I hope to get a few photos for everyone to admire. There will be some looking over and hopefully approval will follow shortly after.

The US version layout is being finished up and the first physical proof will be wending its way out for final approval by none other than yours truly! I’m all goose bumpy and geeked out at the opportunity to look over the proof. I promise I will do my utmost to make sure it looks great.

We’re also coming down to the end of our digital rewards. The last 2 pages of the comic are being colored and John is ready and raring to move on to lettering. Those folks who are expecting the digital comic will be seeing something just as soon as we can finish it up.

Last and certainly not least, I was given a glimpse at the Traveller’s Guide to Yarnolth last week. The book is looking great. Ed’s got every major area listed in the Guide with some great accompanying information. Right now we’re working on adding some flare to it before we call the book finished. I really think you’re going to like it!

That’s it for me. More news and hopefully pictures of the proof next time!

Heading Towards the Finish Line – The Oracle

It feels like I was only just announcing the start of our Marked for Death Kickstarter and now here I am ready to tell you that we’re just over one week away from its finish!

Ed is working diligently on editing the finished rulebook. He’s laid out three quarters of it already and it’s looking great. The edits are coming along and the whole thing has really made a lot of great progress. We can’t wait to show you the finished product!

I’ll be back next week with some final numbers and your last chance to get in on the first run of this fun game.

See you next time!

A History in Profiles – Keelaa – The Oracle

In the Consortium universe there are heroes and villains, martyrs and cowards and everyone in between. Some characters fall into those categories quite easily, others resist definition and that is what makes them legendary.

Keelaa, military quartermaster turned Scimitar Unit Commander, is one of these indefinable characters. We don’t have much information on her early years, what we do know starts with her position as a simple quartermaster for her Resistance military unit. She passed out linens and made sure everyone had enough supplies to go around. Not a bad job but she must have seen in herself the ability to do more because she volunteered for a risky experiment.

Resistance scientists were testing the Ximian Wonder Drug and Keelaa jumped at the opportunity. She was at an advanced level of hand to hand fighting training and the chemical slush of drugs appeared to make her into a supersoldier; with one problem. This new drug was highly addictive.

When the Resistance learned of her addiction she was demoted to the position of quartermaster once again and left to manage the supplies of a base on Arawn. This could have been the end of Keelaa’s story; just another tragic soldier who fell from grace. It probably would have if they had not been attacked.

Troops were sent to destroy what they believed was an easy target – all they had to do was find the base and take them out. They didn’t expect such heavy resistance, all the personnel in the base were designated as non-ccombat, including their quartermaster. During the battle, Keelaa became a living weapon. While Consortium troops searched for their hidden base in vain, she single-handedly killed two hundred enemy troops over three separate outposts and saved the lives of everyone in her own base. This earned her the position of Scimitar Unit Commander as well as the respect and fear of her peers.

Since her promotion, Keelaa has been busying herself running missions; crashing freighters carrying secret anti-alien weapons and hijacking the Consortium News broadcast for Steve Adams. She has swiftly become known as one of the most dangerous and skilled Resistance operatives.

She is a hero to the Resistance, a villain to the Consortium and a legend. The best part is… she’s not done yet.

What’s Ed doing today?

Hi everyone!

Today, I’m working on Era: The Empowered. Keith is working hard on the artwork and I’m focusing on the content of said artwork, along with designing the Character Sheet.

I’ve spent most of this week working on Marked For Death’s Rulebook Primer (for the Kickstarter) and trying to keep up with Sanchit – that guy has serious enthusiasm for Marked For Death and it’s really infectious!

I’ve also been working hard on Campaign sessions for Era: The Empowered and Era: The Consortium – the latter is to continue the campaign but the former is the brand new sessions that will come with the Primer when someone buys it. I’m really looking forward to being able to offer the Empowered Primer, I think it’ll be great.

Anyway, more Empowered work to do, so getting back to it!

– Ed

Watch a Live Session! – The Oracle

The timer is counting down, folks. We’ve got just 2 weeks before the Marked for Death Kickstarter comes to a close. It’s been a good run so far and we’d like to thank everyone who’s taken the time to check it out. If you’re still on the fence and wondering what a magical assassin game would look like, I have something just for you.

This weekend Sanchit will be posting a live stream of his playing session for everyone to get a few more details, get the feel of the game and really take an inside look. You can check it out here when the time comes. However, if you can’t possibly wait that long then you can check out the playtest video. There is a part 1 and part 2 so be sure to catch them both.

After weeks of development I can’t believe we’re getting so close to having a finished book! For each of our games It takes hours upon hours of hair pulling to figure out the perfect balance between player freedom and GM guidance. There’s artwork to be created, writing to be done and many many playtests before a game can be considered ready for general play. Once it’s all put together and you’ve got the finished product in your hands that’s the end of the journey, right? Not quite.

When I told you that we’re trying like mad to conquer the world by setting up our games in every shop we can get our happy little hands on I was being totally honest with you. Having an amazing rulebook is crucial but our challenge now is to spread the word.

To that end, Ed has enlisted the help of two more brilliant folks who will be working with us to get these games into shops. It’s going to be an all-out marketing bonanza and I’ll be keeping you up to date with names and locations as they come around. I’m all set to bring cookies and baked goods if we need to do some bribing. We can be very persuasive when we want to be!

If you’d like to help us out just walk in to your local comic shop, book store or gaming supply depot and let them know that you love the Era games and you’d like to see them on the shelf. It’s that easy!

I’ll see you next week with more news!

Burning the Candle – The Oracle

I’ve always loved the expression, “burning the candle at both ends”. I imagine someone carefully trying to hold a white wax taper in the very center while the flames are melting it away from each side. I’ll have to ask Ed and Keith if that’s what they feel like right about now.

Things are heating up in the world of The Empowered. Both Ed and Keith are working hard to complete this game in time for its full debut at MCM Comicon in London. The proofreaders are already lined up and it’s looking great. The master plan is to have everything finished to the point where we can bring physical copies of the primer. I think we can do it!

We’ve got until October 23rd to make it happen so they’re hammering as fast as they can. I’m told they’re going to lock themselves in a small room with motivational music for 10 days and see what happens. Good luck guys!

I’ll let you know how it went next week!

-A

Dice and Stuff Episode 41: Kukri is to be feared!

Hi everyone!

I don’t know if I’m the only one but I’ve been waiting for Claymore Unit to do an all-out fight against people of equal ability to see what happens.

Well, I finally got my wish this week! It’s not going to be street thugs or over-equipped mooks with Hoppers, firing rocket launchers at their APC for a while: they are taking on Kukri-Unit in a Consortium version of Ultimate Fighting!

Check it out here – I can’t wait for the next episode.

– Ed

Winners and the Rest of Us – The Oracle

Congratulations to the folks who won free Lyres rulebooks through the Geeky Monkey promotion! I know you’re going to have a great time with this game. Even though only a few of you got the prize I’d like you to know that you’re all still winners in my book. Thank you so much to everyone who stepped out and supported us.

Moving on to some news for the beginning of your work week. If you’re one of our amazing and generous Kickstarter backers you’ll be happy to know that Ed has sent out all digital rulebooks, session campaigns and maps of the city of Yarnolth. That should be more than enough to get you started on your first daring adventure!

Do me a favour, would you? If you’re expecting a digital reward and haven’t gotten it yet, go to that pesky little spam folder and make sure it didn’t get sucked in there by accident. If you still haven’t received your copy please send Ed a message so he can get it sorted right away.

Now that our digital version of the deluxe rulebook has been thoroughly proofread, checked and finalized it’s time to move on to printing! The UK version is already on order and a proof will be sent to Ed for final approval before getting sent out to you all. Our US copies will be just a bit behind that because Keith will need to change the layout to fit the US paper sizes. Can I get mine in jumbo wall poster size please?

I’d like to give a huge thank you to every one of our Kickstarter supporters for your ongoing patience as we work to get you the best possible product.

More news is on its way!

Over 200% Funded! – The Oracle

Marked for Death is taking things seriously and their Kickstarter has absolutely raced past the first goal line. With over 15 days left and more than 200% funded this game is a clear success. It’s doing great and there’s a very real possibility of getting to our first Stretch Goal; Army of Assassins!

For those of you who’ve recently started backing this great game and want to know even more about it or for you steady regular folks who’ve been with us the whole time… I’ve got a little something special for you. Ed and the creator of Marked for Death, Sanchit Sharma, were just recently featured on RPG.net doing a Q & A. They talked all about intricate game mechanics, a bit about how the magic system works and had a chance to field loads of great questions. Feel free to look around and see if your favourite question was answered.

In other game news, Ed will be looking at a first draft of Defend The Planet this week and a first draft of Ether is in the works. We’re moving along steady as she goes to get all these games out to you.

More news coming your way next week!

Now available in even more Locations! – The Oracle

Do you remember a few weeks back when I mentioned that Ed was working hard at finding a home for all our great Era games on the shelves of local shops? Well, he’s done it again!

First was Wayland Games in Essex. Now just this week Ed informed me that the fabulous Orc’s Nest game shop in London will also be carrying them. We’re everywhere!

The Orc’s Nest is a unique establishment that opened its doors in 1987 and ever since has been filled with games, particularly RPGs. Sure, they could have made another coffee house with overpriced java and stale muffins but they chose RPGs… these are my kind of people.

Along with regular editions of Era: Lyres, they will also carry the Counting Down From One comic, soft and hardcover copies of The Consortium as well as its primer. It’s going to be a fully stocked experience! So make plans to head over to either of these two amazing shops and ask to see their Era games. It should look something like this…

Before I leave you today; paper copies of Counting Down From One have arrived at Ed’s place! You can expect to find these at each of the conventions we attend so be on the look out. Also, we’re still working on the Secret War expansion and I hope to have more news about this one very soon.

See you next time!
